With these wine cups, you get lush green foliage with magenta flowers that rise up and shine all growing season. Butterflies and pollinators love this natural food source and this little native perennial packs a punch. It is a deer resistant and easy to grow ground cover that is great for naturalizing a small or large area. It works well in the front of a garden bed, or in a rock garden. It excels as spiller in containers and retaining walls and does well to complement and retain moisture for other plants.

Callirhoe involucrata - Wine Cups - Purple Poppy Mallow

Callirhoe involucrata is tough pollinator friendly perennial has a long floral display with cups that extend from soft green carpets of foliage. Callirhoe involucrata is easy to grow in well drained soils and tolerates heat well. The key with this flower is good drainage. Wine Cups - Callirhoe Involucrata - Purple Poppy Mallow

My plants arrived in good condition. I have chosen to grow them in a planter. They are doing well, and now I am just waiting for them to bloom. Wine Cups are in my top 5 of plants/groundcovers. I ordered these new ones to add to those I already had planted in previous years (but thought had died due to the winter storm here in Texas.) However, they have survived, and so I will have lots of these lovely flowers.
