The Appalachian Spring dogwood is specifically bred for enhanced hardiness and disease resistance. If you have struggled with dogwoods due to problems with fungus or mildew, this tree may be your ticket to a successful planting. Appalachian Spring was found at the Camp David Presidential Retreat in Maryland and specifically cultivated by the University of Tennessee due to its enhanced resistance to anthracnose.

The white dogwood is a special tree, because it rewards the gardener all year. As the days lengthen and warm, stark white blooms cover the tree and announce the arrival of spring. When summer arrives the upward branching and deep green textured leaves provide an elegant and graceful appearance among larger straighter shade trees, evergreens, or the sharp geometry of your home. Swirling scarlet and purple leaves add to the color show in the fall, along with brilliant red berries that attract up to 36 species of songbird through the early winter.

This breathtakingly beautiful tree is an excellent choice to plant along streets, near large buildings, next to patios or as a property border. It provides an eye-catching display when planted in rows, but also excels as a solo planting, or among towering giants. Dogwoods do best in some shade and rich soil, but can adapt to a variety of conditions with proper care. Dogwoods do best with 2-4 inches of organic mulch.

Sweet tree!

My tree arrived very quickly, was well packaged, and its posture was nice and straight. I planted it right away following the instructions (mulch, etc.) So far, so good! Can't wait to see it thrive! Thank you!

Appalachian Dogwood

Received the Appalachian Spring dogwood trees from New Blooms Nursery. They were packaged nicely and arrived in perfect condition. I planted them the next day and they are doing great. I can see a small amount of growth ready to bud out. I am excited to see how they will grow down here in Mobile Alabama. Our city used to be filled with dogwood trees but anthracnose wiped them out. If these do well I’m going to try to start a drive in the city to replant dogwood trees in our city.

Arrived in great shape

Arrived well packaged, in great shape, with good instructions. And with buds! I just hope it survives the winter.

Healthy Looking Trees

Our Applachain Spring dogwoods arrived quickly and were quickly planted. We have high hopes for these trees. Very healthy stock. Impressive packaging. Trees have been in the ground about a week now and are sprouting bigger leaves. If these fare well, we may need several more! Glad to have found an anthracnose resistant white dogwood and love that these have origins in Camp David, which is nearby.

Appalachian Dogwood

The tree arrived very quickly and was packaged securely. It had little leaflet buds on every tip. This is the first time I've used new blooms Nursery but will definitely consider them in the future.
