This new Heliopsis is kind of a big deal. It is the first cultivar of its kind to have no yellow on its flowers. These gorgeous flowers look absolutely stunning as they sit overtop green/bronze/chocolate foliage. It is a long blooming native plant that makes excellent cut flowers from early summer to fall. If you like floral arrangements we consider this flower a must - as you have an excellent orange option all summer and fall. Just save some for your butterflies and bees so they have access to this consistent source of food.

We love Heliopsis because it provides you with so many options! It is an excellent tall perennial that can be used in the middle or back of a flower borders, it works great in mass plantings and with its ornamental foliage it is a real workhorse in the garden. Pair it with Helenium or Coneflower for an amazing late-summer/fall butterfly garden. You can also use Helenium in combination containers and in naturalized areas to feed your butterflies and pollinators.

General care for any tree or shrub is easy, but like any living thing will require your attention. Please educate yourself and follow these simple rules.

Heliopsis Bleeding Heart

Heliopisis will grow in both full sun and part shade. We recommend full sun for best performance. Heleiopsis does well in average soil and will tend to fall if grown in soil that is too rich. Just keep fertility and moisture average and this plant will be its most successful. You can deadhead spent flowers and you'll get more blooms - this will also help prevent reseeding, unless you are naturalizing an area, in that case let them grow!
