The Carolina silverbell will add elegant beauty to your landscape. It has unique little, white, bell shaped flowers that grow in cluster rows up the branches. The flowers come on in late spring along with the yellow green foliage making a beautiful combination. Carolina silverbell is native to the southeastern United States and can be seen in the wild as a small understory tree and some even appear shrub like with multi-trunks making this tree good for woodland gardens. However, when used in landscape as a specimen tree it gets a nice wide spread and will become a focal point to your yard. It is also used to add dapple shade to garden beds as its nice bark color and structure makes a good backdrop for rhododendrons and azaleas. This tree also has brownish fruit that appears in the fall through winter. Being a native tree makes the Carolina silverbell very hardy and disease resistance.
