Artic Fire Dogwood is one of those rare shrubs that can completely alter the complexion of a winter garden. The fire-wagon red stems are eye-popping on a snowy landscape. Planted as a singluar planting or in mass they color of Artic Fire is a perfect compliment to the browns and greens of grasses and evergreens. When combined with the textures of hydrangea mop heads and grasses this shrub can make a winter garden into a thing of beauty.
Red twig shrub can be used in many ways but we recommend putting it somewhere that will highlight its winter beauty. After all of its leaves have fallen off the bright red stems add a warmth to the bleak winter months. It is a wonderful companion shrub for a garden with its green leaves and small white flowers that bloom in the spring and are replaced by small bluish berries in the summer. They do well as stand-alone plants when massed together and they can even work for you when massed on banks to prevent erosion.
