Aster is a perfect fall plant. Showers of pink flowers emerge in unison from densely packed foliage just as our collective consciousness creeps towards pumpkins and changing leaves. If you are looking for a vibrant color in the fall garden, pink crush might just be the perfect plant for the job. It works well in border plantings, mass plantings forming round fully covered pink mounds that have a uniform bushy appearance. It's also a great option for fall container plantings giving you color as you close out the growing season.

General care for any tree or shrub is easy, but like any living thing will require your attention. Please educate yourself and follow these simple rules.

Aster novae-angliae 'Pink Crush'

Asters appreciate rich, evenly moist soil and lots of sun. They grow to be full and quite large so give them lots of room for air circulation as powdery mildew can be a problem. This cultivar is smaller than most, but still consider pinching plants back from late spring until July 4th to keep them compact for the fall bloom period. Divide aster every couple of years in the spring to maintain healthy plants.

Very disappointed, two small plants in pot.

I have purchased a handful of plants from New Blooms and have been so happy with the shipping, plant size and health. This Aster looked beautiful on the site. Unfortunately, this is the one plant received from New Blooms that was a big disappointment. It arrived looking like it had already bloomed, which seems strange for an Aster, based on my limited experience. The remaining buds were dried up and brown. The pot actually had what appeared to be two very small plants. I definitely would not have purchased this if I had seen it in person. I’m really surprised that this was sent, based on my experience with receiving nice plants on my other orders from New Blooms.
