Azalea Ruby Reblooming

This deciduous azalea blooms for five months of the year. From spring into early fall large red flowers continually appear providing a stunning contrast to dark green foliage. Staying relatively compact it is also a good shrub for small spaces and areas where a shade loving plant is needed. Part sun or part shade tend to be just the right amount of light. Azalea grows best with afternoon shade but is adaptable to a variety of light conditions especially in well drained soil rich in organic matter. Consistent soil moisture will benefit azalea so a good blanket of mulch is recommended. typically grow slowly and keep a nice shape, but if pruning is required do so in the fall after the final blooms fade.
