Dura Heat® River Birch is a somewhat smaller cultivar that features a brighter, creamy, white bark color. Birch trees are found naturally growing in wet areas but Dura Heat® River Birch is better tolerant to summer heat so it is more adaptable to the average landscape but it may need a little more attention during drought. This variety also offers better insect and disease resistance with superior foliage to the species. It has dark green foliage in the summer that turns to a pale yellow in the fall. This tree can be used as a specimen tree to stand alone or grouped with many, or it can be a focal tree in your garden since its summer foliage offers a nice dapple shade for any plants underneath its canopy. River Birch is mostly desired for its peeling bark seen in the young trees. The Dura Heat® River Birch offers a beautiful and unique bark color that will provide year round interest.
