These coneflowers have fully double 4.5" flowers and eye popping pink color. The DOUBLE DIPPED® collection was hybridized for improved color and strong stems that won't fall or bend. Of medium height 'Watermelon Sugar' works in a wide variety of garden schemes and companion plantings. We've always liked double blooming coneflowers for their pom-pom like appearance and the uniqueness they add to the garden.

In late summer as the days lengthen perennial coneflowers emerge with a splendid display that is hard to beat for color intensity and attractiveness. This nativar is a huge hit with butterflies, bees and other pollinators while adding variety to your native plant color pallet. It will bring the appeal of the American prairie back into your yard. Be sure to leave the spent flowers through winter as coneflowers will attract finches and other seed eaters to your yard through late fall and the colder months.

Echinacea Double Dipped® Watermelon Sugar - Coneflower

Coneflower, also known as echinacea, is a wonderful perennial native to the U.S. midwest and prairies. It does best in a light loamy soil, but will do well in any well-drained soil. Full sunlight and heat are best for full flowering, while they can tolerate some light shade, we recommend at least 6 hours of full sun each and every day. Once established they are very drought resistant making them a great plant for those looking for a low water/ low maintenance garden. As a perennial flower, if cared for correctly echinacea will return with new growth each year.
