The color white is important in gardening, so we spent a lot of time narrowing down a true white coneflower that would be flexible and useful in a range of scenarios. Our search ended with PowWow White. Part of the acclaimed PowWow series, PowWow white has a pure white flower with traditional golden yellow cones. The flowers measure around 4 inches wide and overlap neatly to create showy full blooms. Flowers start mid-summer and stay full coming in waves through fall. PowWow series coneflowers are selected to be stiff and well-branched, giving you more flowers and plants that won't collapse or fall down. We think the size around 2 feet tall gives them maximum flexibility in gardens that feature short, medium and even tall plants. They work well in border gardens, along hard scapes or in foundation plantings.

You can't go wrong with echinacea. We carry a multitude of cultivars and colors for just that reason. They are easy to grow and reward the lazy gardener with months of full beautiful blooms that just keep coming. Pollinators are big fans of the native and nativar varieties flocking to the flowers through the summer and well into the fall. Echinacea comes in many varieties both short and tall. They can be used in a wide variety of garden applications including border gardens, container plantings and naturalization into a larger area. They make great cut flowers. The seeds feed finches and other birds through the cold months, while also maintaining a structural interest through the winter months. I could go on... let's just leave it at we love them and you should too!

Echinacea PowWow White - Coneflower

Coneflower, also known as echinacea, is a wonderful perennial native to the U.S. midwest and prairies. It does best in a light loamy soil, but will do well in any well-drained soil. Full sunlight and heat are best for full flowering, while they can tolerate some light shade, we recommend at least 6 hours of full sun each and every day. Once established they are very drought resistant making them a great plant for those looking for a low water/ low maintenance garden. As a perennial flower, if cared for correctly echinacea will return with new growth each year.
