Galaxy is an award winning profuse pink-blooming magnolia. With blooms that come on early to mid spring it usually escapes frost damage and will be a star in your spring garden. Originating from a 1963 cross between Magnolia liliiflora ‘Nigra’ and M. sprengeri ‘Diva’, this classic tree remains requested by landscapers due to its strong central leader, perfect pyramidal form and reliable blooms. Winner of the prestigious Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gold Medal Plant Award in 1992, it is a tree known around the horticultural world as a true classic.

Galaxy is prized because it keeps a single stem and strong pyramidal shape, it grows 30 to 40 feet tall and 22 to 25 feet wide at maturity which occurs around 25 to 30 years and has a moderate growth rate.
