Gentiana 'True Blue' - Gentian

Blue is actually a difficult color to come by in nature, that's what makes this gentiana such an outstanding plant. Through the summer and into the fall the mid-height bushy foliage produces 2 inch flowers all along the stems. The flowering plant is great for the middle or back section of a border planting or garden bed, it can be used around hardscapes and even along fence rows or other borders.

Gentians are grown best in cooler climates with mild summers, where summers are warmer it should be protected from afternoon sun. Plant it in well-drained soil that maintains average moisture, mulch will help to maintain the moisture. If the soil stays wet the plant may rot.
