Holly Steeds Upright
Steeds holly prefer moist well drained soil that is slightly acidic. They should be mulched with a deep layer of mulch to promote consistent soil moisture and reduce soil cracking and heat. If planted in a sunny or partially sunny location these trees are typically quite easy to grow and should be fertilized with a slow release fertilizer in the spring. Steeds are very responsive to pruning and can be sheared annually to shape, making them a great choice for a hedge, for flanking the entrance of the house or placed elsewhere in the foundation bed.
