The Honeycrisp is another great variety of apple that has risen in popularity over the years so you may already know of its sweet, slightly tart, crisp, refreshing flavor. Now imagine growing this fruit in your own backyard. Not only would you get to have the delicious fruit fresh from the tree but the Honeycrisp is known for offering great flavor even after taken out of cold storage. The apples are of a nice medium size and the tree yields a good harvest mid to late season. It is suggested for a more flavorful fruit harvest the tree should not be allowed to over-crop. The Honeycrisp was also developed to be more cold hardy and shows good resistance to the common apple tree diseases. This variety requires pollination by an apple tree of another variety with the same bloom period, which is late spring, planted within 50 feet.
