The ‘Krauter Vesuvius’ plum - Prunus cerasifera ‘Krauter’s Vesuvius’ - is a cultivar of the ornamental flowering plum. The ‘KV’ plum was chosen for its darker purple foliage of the flowering plums. The leaves pop out with the beautiful spring time blooms of light pink that seem to explode densely through the entire canopy. These beautiful trees are mostly seen as a specimen tree to highlight lawns and gardens. It has a small stature and spread that does not overwhelm a smaller yard, walkway, or patio, and it will not take over a garden only add to it with its delicate beauty. The ‘KV’ flowering plum also produces little to no fruit making it a tidier tree to have along a walkway or patio.
