The lavender twist redbud is a small tree that packs a major punch. With large weeping heart shaped leaves the branches of this tree always grown downward and toward the earth. Lavender twist is a great example of a living canvas. Armed with pruning shears and a stake the gardener can encourage it to take on a variety of different heights and appearances. More open waterfall and dense igloo shapes are all possible depending on how you train your specimen. Once you've crafted your striking work of living art you can enjoy its beauty for many decades to come.
Ruby Falls is a green redbud, with lighter green leaves. Like all redbud trees, the lavender twist has captivating heart shaped leaves and small bright purple flower clusters in the early spring. Redbuds are hearty and disease resistant trees, and can tolerate a wide range of soil and light conditions.
Directions: Stake lavender twist and take the leader to the desired height by securing with vinyl gardening tape. Prune for openness or leave it growing for an igloo shape. Enjoy.
