Moonglow Sweetbay Magnolia

For those looking for an interesting native with all season color Magnolia x virginiana 'Moonglow' is worth examining. The deep-green shinny leaves are evergreen as far north as zone 5 and allow Moonglow to provide year round color. Gardeners and designers can use it similar to a holly or pine, providing season long color and structure for the landscape. However, unlike holly or pine, Moonglow will give you prolific large white tulip like white blooms. On the backdrop of dark green leaves these blooms will breath-life into your spring garden while accentuating your the more colorful species in the yard.
