Nothing quite says summer like the blooms of a Black Eye Susan. Little Goldstar is a compact variety that brings the character and hardiness of Black Eye Susan in a more manageable and flexible package. The well-branched plants will hold loads of golden yellow flowers in domes just above the foliage from mid-summer to fall. They are reliable bloomers that require little care year after year. Rudbeckia is a strong producer from July to October and will provide strong mounds of golden flowers for months on end. Partner with Aster or Mums or decorative gourds for a great effect. These are a great choice for a native plant that thrives in the midwest in a variety of conditions.
Why Little Goldstar?
Rudbeckia should be a garden staple for the American prairie and midwest. We like this cultivar because it provides a more manageable form and height for the average home gardener. Pollinators flow to these flowers, which will provide food for native bees and beneficials from summer to frost.

Rudbeckia Little Goldstar - Black Eye Susan
Black Eye Susan, also known as rudbeckia, is a wonderful perennial native to the U.S. midwest and prairies. It does best in a light loamy soil, but will do well in any well-drained soil. Full sunlight and heat are best for full flowering, while they can tolerate some light shade, we recommend at least 6 hours of full sun each and every day. Once established they are very drought resistant making them a great plant for those looking for a low water/ low maintenance garden. As a perennial flower, if cared for correctly rudbeckia will return with new growth each year.
