The Santa Rosa Plum provides a fragrant white flower in the spring and after 3-5 years it will produce medium to large, red-purple fruit in the summer. The fruit is a combination of sweet and tart giving it a refreshing taste when eaten. These plums also work well when made into jams, jellies and preserves, puddings, and sauces as well as in desserts. Santa Rosa will self-pollinate, however, more fruit appears on the tree if it pollinates with another suitable plum tree.
