Though the intensity of the blooms fragrance may vary it is described as having a sweet, fruity smell that attracts pollinators. Even the leaves have a fruity scent when crushed. The sweetshrub has a nice rounded shape that can be pruned to keep a dense form when grown in a formal setting or left alone for a more natural look.
