Wisley Supreme is an excellent choice for a large shrub or small tree, due to its tolerance of a variety of soil conditions and beautiful and full golden winter blooms. The bright yellow tufts of flowers unfurl from red colored buds in late-winter and early spring, signifying warmer weather to come. We believe that sunlight hitting a frosty witch hazel bloom is one of the most enchanting sights in the winter garden.
'Wisley Supreme' is a Chinese witch hazels and tops out at 10-15 ft. tall and 10-15 ft. wide. It is a very hardy plant and has few problems with disease. Witch hazel is an under-appreciated plant in the United States, but most homes in Europe, particularly Germany, have at least one witch hazel in the garden. Wisely supreme is a good witch hazel for tough places because it tolerates heavy clay soil well; however adequate moisture should still be maintained and mulch is highly recommended.
General care for any tree or shrub is easy, but like any living thing will require your attention. Please educate yourself and follow these simple rules.
